CORE POINT30 Lighting Units

New Product Concept

We have applied all the newest technologies and light output of mains-powered LED lights (2500lm) and combined them with a battery (>12 hours in most applications). For the POINT30 IP65 product it can operate in the harshest of conditions outdoors and completely remotely (i.e. completely free of power and data cables and also the lighting desk). The products are designed for very fast deployment/setup and take-down in harsh conditions by users not expert in lighting. Also by adding our expertise in wireless communications we have made product setup very straightforward using mobile phone or laptop commonly held by anyone who might deploy them.

Dramatically faster deployment & simplicity

One light can be configured as Master controlling a number of Slaves, thus eliminating the need for a lighting desk in the majority of simple usage situations. Deployment and take-down are drastically speeded up as cabling is eliminated and a whole network of lights can be fully pre-configured in the warehouse before despatch. Minor adjustments can be made on-site, or even full set up using any laptop, PDA or Java-enabled phone with WiFi and a browser (eg iPhone/Blackberry/Nokia E series). This also allows each light to be monitored remotely. When combined with the POINT30Indoor product a combined indoor/outdoor lighting scheme can be implemented.

Improving site safety

By eliminating ALL cabling gets rid of the trip hazards and risk of electrocution from power cables, especially around larger outdoor event areas. This is especially true when lighting up architectural columns where the public are often present near the lighting. It is also easier to deploy lights over a much larger area, eliminating the need for heavy cable drums and transport of these cables to/from the event. By using high-efficiency LEDs makes the product safe to touch, unlike incandescent lighting which runs hotter and less efficiently. A generator may be eliminated for lighting and thus reduce noise at quieter events, especially useful in outdoor theatre where POINT30 lights are powerful enough for colour stage lighting.

Energy-saving & sustainability?

Using LEDs provides more than 80% more efficient light power than traditional means and POINT30 efficiency is higher than most LED lights on the market due to our design focus in optimising battery life. We insist on using the highest brightness colour LEDs in combination with highest-brightness white LEDs to achieve the optimal efficiency possible. Combined with optimal driver design most power is output as light rather than losses in the drivers. Using battery storage allows power to be taken most efficiently from grid-mains rather than expensive generator-produced power on-site.

New Technology

New technology wireless allows us to simplify the operator experience of setting up each light using a simple mobile phone browser, laptop or PDA. This is available on the majority of medium to high-end phones including iPhone and iPOD Touch. It also allows the user to monitor each light or the whole network remotely and make simple adjustments. In this way, battery status can also be monitored remotely during use. Simple diagnostics can be performed on each light using the phone browser/wireless link some distance away from the light (10’s to 100’s of metres depending on environment).
